Manna of  May 2012..

Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven..

As the angels of God in heaven obey God and carry out His will in heaven, we in this earth are expected to carry out His will. When the kingdom of righteousness, peace, and joy is established in the heart, fulfillment of the Divine will is the spontaneous outcome..The will of God is infinitely good, wise, and holy; to have it fulfilled in and among men, is to have infinite goodness, wisdom, and holiness throughout the earth.

This petition certainly points out a deliverance from all sin; for nothing that is unholy can be a part of the Divine will, and if this be fulfilled in man, surely sin shall be banished from our life. The very moment we learn to submit our will to His will, self dies within us and that is the desirable point of achievement in our Christian life. The most beautiful prayer of submission is to ask God to help us to desire only those things which are within the limit of His will. Obviously, self is the cause for our sinful inclinations. Hence when self is subdued, deliverance from sin is attained and His will alone will be done which consequently fills our heart with peace and joy.

A child which loves the father tries to please its father and though the attempts may not be totally perfect, the father offers his help and makes the attempt a successful one. Similarly, when we love God and submit our wishes to the divine will, our imperfections are made perfect. Of course, the Father’s will for us will be much more perfect than that which our limited mind can think and plan for ourselves. Our souls can never be truly happy, till our wills be entirely subjected to, and become one with, the will of God.

Before we start our day, let us say this prayer: "Lord, I subject my will to your divine will and choose Your way, . Accomplish Your will in me." Doing His will is serving Him. Serving God does not mean being involved in distribution of tracts or delivering messages. It is pleasing God in all the small things we do. It is speaking soft words to others and understanding the concerns of others. God’s will can be executed through our small actions and reactions.

The will of God in heaven is done on earth when we become aware of what He wants us to do. Knowledge pertaining to the will of God constitutes the first step in doing the will of God. Application of this knowledge in life is wisdom. The Bible says that we have to ask God for wisdom. Wisdom directs us to choose the right responses that allow the will of God to operate in our life. May God grant us this wisdom to do the will of God in the small circle of our life and in the enlarged circles of all our interactions.
