Manna of April 2016...

“What do you want me to do? Luke : 18:35”

Jesus asked the blind man , ‘what do you want me to do for you’ The man replied that he wanted his sight and he received it.

1) Jesus wanted the blind man to be specific about what he wanted. We need to know what exactly we want God to do for us. Sometimes the internal dialogue that goes on within us makes us lose sight of our focus and our priorities. We need to be clear about what we need. Only then, we can have unfailing faith in God.

2) Jesus wanted him to verbalize his faith in Him. Jesus knew what he wanted but He wanted him to articulate that. His statement is an expression of faith in Jesus.

A child who wants something from his father, verbalizes that wish with faith so that the father will get it for him.

Jesus wants us to verbalize what we want Him to do for us.

The blind man was given an opportunity to affirm his faith through expressing his thought in words.

3) The question gave the blind man an opportunity to prioritize his needs. Sight was his topmost priority and Jesus performed a miracle in that area. We may have numerous desires and we may have many areas where we want God to move in and work solutions. But we need to sort them out and concentrate on one area where we need His help so that we can be enabled to overcome that weakness. It could be a spiritual desire or emotional need. It might even be a physical need. But when we are specific about it God can work wonders
